Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department estimates 3,625
individuals are homeless on any given day.
Art From the Streets provides a safe and encouraging environment to
homeless citizens who strive to make a difference in their own lives
and those around them. In the past 15 years the program has raised over
$550,000 and has afforded some of them the opportunity to rent apartments,
and many of them the ability to open bank accounts and purchase food,
clothing, medical supplies, and even vehicles.
AFTS is just one of many wonderful local organizations that help homeless
