Our 2006 Art Show

14th Annual Art From the Streets Show

The 14th Annual Art From the Streets Show and Sale of Art by People Who Are Homeless took place from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, and Sunday, November 12, 2006, at ARCH, the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless, 500 East 7th Street in Austin, Texas.

Art From the Streets is an all-volunteer program that provides a safe and encouraging environment where the positive spirit and creativity of homeless people is nurtured through artistic expression.

Art From the Streets gives Austin's homeless community the opportunity to exhibit artistic skills, interact with the people of Austin, and raise funds to pay for necessities such as food, clothing and housing. Original artwork started at $30 with proceeds going directly to the artists. The $3 admission donation helps defer the cost of art supplies and materials used throughout the year for the twice-weekly art classes run by Art From the Streets' volunteers.
